The K2 and K3 (Potassium) Salts of EDTA (Ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid) are used as an anticoagulant. There are no functional differences between the two additives, but the presentation differs:

  • K2EDTA is a liquid solution that is spray coated onto the interior surface of the BD Vacutainer® Tubes
  • K3EDTA is a liquid solution in the BD Vacutainer® Tubes
